SPANISH FUSION,
SELF-SERVICE RESTAURANT

MESA

Mesa is a newly renovated restaurant located in nature reserve 'De Gavers' in Harelbeke. With its beautiful location and large porch the building is the ideal spot for a tapas restaurant. Bringing in the Spanish vibe was important but appreciating the nature was the most important aspect. Creating an abstract forest on the inside where the tables represent the trees. The southern vibe was obtained by the use of certain materials and lighting. This creates a modern yet warm and cozy restaurant perfect for food sharing. As a finishing touch the name 'mesa' was chosen which refers to the Spanish word 'table'.

  • Circulation

Circulation is crucial in interior design for a self-service restaurant to ensure efficient flow of customers. Well-planned layouts prevent congestion, enhance customer experience, and optimize staff operations. It fosters a smooth and enjoyable dining atmosphere.

  • BRANDING

Branding is vital in restaurant interior design, especially for 'mesa,' a Spanish-themed eatery with a self-service concept. It helps convey the restaurant's identity, emphasizing its Spanish roots and communal dining experience. Effective branding enhances customer recognition and fosters a cohesive and memorable ambiance.

  • Materials

Material choice is pivotal in the interior design of a Spanish self-service restaurant like this. It connects with the Spanish heritage, utilizes circular materials for sustainability, and aligns with the natural park setting, creating a harmonious and culturally immersive dining environment.

Communication plans

The Dual Role of Plans in Design Communication

In the world of design, plans are more than just technical blueprints; they are essential tools for client communication. These plans detail how a space will function, where elements will be placed, and the materials to be used. When complemented by realistic renders, their purpose extends to not only inform but also sell the design to the client. This versatile combination ensures clients grasp the vision and feel compelled to embrace it.
